Bialas Farms
The Bialas Farm is owned by Doris and Frank Bialas. It is a 55 acre family-run farm in Orange County, New York. The Bialas’s sell their produce at markets in Manhattan; Goshen, NY; and in Pleasantville, NY in Westchester County. They are also present at numerous festivals throughout the year. The farm began in 1939 when Sophie and Francis Bialas bought a few acres of Orange County Black dirt on Celery Avenue, where Sophie had lived as a young girl. They farmed the few acres with their young and ever-growing family. Over the years, they added acres and kids and grew lots of celery for a wholesale market. The farm passed to Frank in 1984. In 1992, Frank and his family decided to begin selling at farmers’ markets.
Today the farm boasts 3 greenhouses and a product list that is as long as your arm. Learn more of their story at www.bialasfarms.com. We look forward to welcoming them back for the 2008 Season of Ringwood Farmers’ Market.
