On Saturday, June 7th the Ringwood Farmers' Market celebrated Eat Local Day. Mayor Walter Davison joined the folks from Eat Local to commemorate the day with a ribbon cutting. There was a free raffle for books related to eating local and a special blessing of the harvest:

Farmers' Prayer
by Robin Fogle

Lord, bless the land you've given me, as I tend each crop and creature
You're the one who helps them grow.
Grant me the strength and wisdom,
Please protect me from harm,
And thank you for your precious gift -
The blessing of a farm.

Mayor Davison speaking to crowd Mayor Cutting Ribbon

Mayor Davison thanked the residents of Ringwood and surrounding communities for coming to the market. He also thanked the organizers of the market (the Eat Local folks) for bringing to Ringwood "one of the best things he's seen in a long time."

We agree!
